2026-05-21 Caring for Our Motherland – “Journey to Our Roots” Photography Exhibition

Heart for the Motherland · Journey to Roots 📸 Capture the beauty of hometown, inherit Chinese heritage ✨

The third and final event of this academic year under the "Caring for Our Motherland" Joint School National Education Series organised by The Lok Sin Tong, the "Journey to Our Roots" Photography Exhibition 📸, was successfully held at Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School on Thursday, 21 May 🎉. We were honoured to have Ms Chung Hoi Ting, Assistant District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), officiate at the ceremony. She joined our Chairlady Ms Wan Man Wai, Standing Directors, as well as teachers and students from our affiliated schools to admire the outstanding photography works 🙌🏻.

Centred on the theme of "Native Hometowns", the photography competition encouraged students to explore their family origins and trace the history of their surnames. Young photographers picked up their cameras to capture the scenery of their hometowns. Through creation and exploration, they embraced the spirit of respecting ancestors and remembering our roots, fostering a strong sense of belonging to hometown and love for the nation ❤️.

Apart from the exhibition area, a variety of Chinese cultural booths offered wonderful experiences. Participants savoured traditional tea art 🍵 and local snacks such as sugar onion cakes and maltose cakes 😋. They also enjoyed hands-on craft activities, making traditional artworks including blue and white porcelain coasters, Chaoshan lanterns and Song brocade mirrors 🎨📮.

These delightful activities allowed teachers and students to experience the charm of diverse Chinese cultures up close, strengthening the bond with their ancestral homelands 🥰.
